Antonia's Discussion Question

6.) Throuhgout his life, Paul Fisher has been living without an explanation to his weakened eyesight. Until his later years, his parents have been keeping the incident that hampered his vision to themselves. Why do you think they would rather keep that incident from him, and then let him know the terrifying reason to why he is parially blind?

1. I believe that Paul’s parents would rather keep this secret from him because they do not want him hating his own brother. If Paul were to grow up hating his own brother then their family wouldn’t seem perfect, and that is what they want.

I think that his parents kept it a secret from Paul because they wanted Paul and Eric to grow up with a good friendship and connection. They wanted Paul to look up to his brother as a good person not a person who almost blinded him. They did not want Paul to hate him for the rest of his life.
